The phrase “stunning lipstick” is now literally true. Women (and men who are very secure in their self-image) can now carry this wonderful little number that combines a flashlight and 350,000 volts of self-protection. OK, is it just me or is the possibility of a self-inflicted injury pretty impressive here?
Compensation for Bumped Passengers to Increase

The US Department of Transportation has increased the compensation who are bumped from overbooked flights. It may be good news for passengers, but in the long run might be bad for already ailing airlines. The government should be fixing the part of our air transport system that's broken.

CALGARY–CBC News will close the Calgary unit of its Newsworld channel as of next month. The public broadcaster announced Thursday that the two hours of Newsworld programming currently being produced from Calgary will shift to Toronto.

Google (Nasdaq:GOOG) beat analysts expectations by a hefty amount for the quarter, and the stock surged on the news the economic slowdown wasn't having an impact on the search giant. In after-hours trading the stock was up by 17 percent on the news. For the first quarter, income increased by 30 percent to reach $1.31 billion.
